From the 1840s, Grenache was extensively planted by pioneering vignerons of the Barossa. By the 1980s, the federal government declared a major vine pull, Grenache was high on the list. Fortunately, a few of these rare and ancient vineyards survived to fulfil their destiny, making outstanding wine that carries in its heart the history and tenacity of the Barossa. A roaming five-course tasting menu prepared by Rockford’s chefs with produce from our garden will highlight the different expressions of Grenache that honour the past and shine a light on the future.
